Build & Modernize

Mobile Applications

Field staff or customers get an app that works offline and passes store review the first time.

Typical engagement8–14 weeks

What this engagement is

Most business mobile apps fail on the boring details: what happens in a warehouse with no signal, how a driver's photo upload survives an app restart, why the store rejected the build over a permissions string. These aren't edge cases — for a field app, they are the product. We design offline-first: data is captured locally, sync is explicit, and conflicts resolve by rules we agree in advance rather than by whatever the library does by default.

We build cross-platform from one codebase, so iOS and Android ship together and stay together. Test builds reach your testers on real devices from the second week — not an emulator demo at the end. Store listings, privacy declarations, screenshot requirements, and the back-and-forth with review teams are handled by us through to approval.

After launch, maintenance is quoted as a separate agreement with its own scope and its own exit. OS updates keep coming whether or not anyone maintains your app, so we make the maintenance plan explicit — and you can decline it, because the handover includes everything your own developers would need to take over.

Who this is for

  • Operations teams equipping drivers, inspectors, or field technicians
  • Insurers putting claims capture in the hands of adjusters
  • Companies replacing a mobile web workaround that staff refuse to use

What you get

  • iOS and Android applications from a shared codebase
  • Offline-first data layer with defined conflict resolution
  • Backend API and admin interface if required
  • App Store and Play Store submission, managed
  • Separately quoted maintenance plan you can decline

Scope

Exactly what the quoted price covers

The scope document for this engagement lists both columns below in writing. Nothing moves between them without a conversation.

Included in the engagement

  • Field scoping: devices, connectivity, environment, and usage conditions documented first
  • One codebase shipping both platforms, with platform-specific behavior where it matters
  • Offline capture, sync engine, and conflict resolution rules
  • Store accounts, listings, privacy declarations, and review management
  • Signing credentials, release process, and full handover documentation

Not included

  • Ongoing maintenance beyond the included post-launch window — quoted separately
  • Hardware procurement or device fleet management
  • Consumer growth features (referral loops, in-app marketing)

Working together

What we need from you

Fixed dates only hold when both sides show up. These are the commitments we ask for in exchange for ours.

  • 01

A handful of real end users willing to test builds in the field

  • 02

Apple Developer and Google Play organization accounts (we help you set them up)

  • 03

Access to the backend systems the app needs to talk to

Process

How it runs

  1. 01

    Field scoping

How the app is actually used — devices, connectivity, gloves, sunlight — defined before any interface work.

  2. 02

    Build

Weekly builds distributed to your testers on real devices from the second week onward.

  3. 03

    Store submission

Listings, privacy declarations, and review responses handled by us through to approval.

  4. 04

    Handover

Codebase, signing credentials, release process, and an optional maintenance agreement.
